Our Objectives

With the kind blessings of Mahatma Gandhi, Late Sardar A.Vedaratnam Pillai, the veteran freedom fighter and pioneer of the Vedaraniam Salt Satyagraha in the Southern India launched by our beloved Rajaji in the year 1930 devoted his entire attention to the constructive programs of Mahatma Gandhi. He started the Gurukulam in the year 1946 to educate the girls in villages which is one among the constructive programs of Mahatma Gandhi and named it as Kasthurba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam.

 Kasthurba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam

Vedaraniam is a village. It is near the sea shore. Salt pans spread far and wide near the sea shore. It is in the south east corner of South India. During the freedom struggle, when Mahatma Gandhi defied the ban of taking salt from the sea in Dandi, North India, Vaedaraniam came to light kindled by one of its veterans, a follower of Mahatma Gandhi's ideal.
